Straight answers

What Oklahoma homeowners ask before they hire a roofer.

Answers in Eric's words. Ask him anything else on the inspection.

How much does a new roof cost in Oklahoma?

Roof pricing depends mostly on the size of the roof and the pitch, meaning how steep the slope is, from a low 3/12 up to a steep 12/12. As a Malarkey preferred contractor, Scott 1 Roofing gets significant discounts, so we can price a Class 4 rubberized asphalt shingle about where most companies price a Class 3 shingle, whether that is GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed or Tamko. Every quote is free and explained line by line.

Do you offer a veteran discount?

Yes. Veterans and surviving spouses of veterans get a $1,000 line item back on their roof, our thank you for your service. During Memorial Day week and Veterans Day week, they also get an additional 25% off on top of the $1,000.

How long does a roof last in Oklahoma weather?

The average asphalt shingle roof in Oklahoma lasts about 15 years. A Malarkey rubberized asphalt roof installed by Scott 1 Roofing comes with a 50-year warranty. We also install metal, tile and composition roofs, but most homeowners choose rubberized asphalt once they compare the product.

How long does a full roof replacement take?

It depends on size and pitch. A 17-square roof can be done in about half a day, a 70-square roof in about two days, and a steep 12/12 roof that needs harnesses can take two and a half to three days. From your first payment to a finished roof, our turnaround is 7 to 10 business days, maximum.

Will filing a hail claim raise my insurance rates?

With a Malarkey roof, it can do the opposite. When Eric hand-delivers your final invoice, he also gives you a premium reduction request form for your insurance agent. Insurers see a Class 4 Malarkey roof with a 50-year warranty as lower risk, which is why homeowners can qualify for a lower annual premium.

Do I need to be home during the roof replacement?

No. You do not need to be home while we replace your roof.

How do I know if my roof has hail damage from the ground?

If you have an asphalt shingle roof and a hailstorm has come through, you have damage. If one or two hailstorms have hit since your roof was installed, it is time for a free inspection. Hail damage is very hard to see from the ground, which is why Eric gets on the roof and insists on being there when the adjuster inspects it.

Why is my roof priced the way it is?

Your Scott 1 Roofing quote is built line by line: tear-off, decking inspection, underlayment, shingle or metal system, flashing, ventilation, cleanup and warranty. Eric walks you through each line so you can compare it honestly to any other Oklahoma roofing bid.

What is the best way to handle a roof insurance claim in Oklahoma?

Do not call the insurer alone. Get a free inspection first, then Eric calls the claims line with you so the date of loss and damage description are consistent from day one. He then meets the adjuster on your roof so nothing is missed.

What could cost extra on a roof replacement?

Decking. If rotten or soft plywood shows up after tear-off it is replaced at about $89 per sheet, and you are told before it happens. Gutters, soffit, fascia and siding are optional add-ons and are never hidden in the base price.

Does Scott 1 Roofing install Malarkey shingles?

Yes. Scott 1 Roofing is a Malarkey Certified Pro contractor and installs Malarkey Highlander AR (Class 3) and Vista AR (Class 4) rubberized asphalt shingles. Both are impact, wind and algae resistant. Eric gives you an Insurance Premium Reduction Request Form with your final invoice, and your 50-year Malarkey warranty arrives in the mail within 90 days of completion.

Where does Scott 1 Roofing work?

Scott 1 Roofing is based in Sapulpa and serves homeowners and businesses across the entire state of Oklahoma, with most jobs in Sapulpa, Bixby and the Tulsa area.

Is Scott 1 Roofing licensed and insured?

Yes. Scott 1 Roofing, LLC holds Oklahoma Roofing Contractor Registration #80007107 and carries general liability insurance. The registration number appears on every estimate and contract.
